NCC Boys & Girls Mountaineering Expedition to 6,002m Mt Thelu Peak in Garhwal Region flagged-off from New Delhi


The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys & Girls Mountaineering Expedition to Mt Thelu Peak was flagged-off by DG, NCC Lt. General Gurbirpal Singh from New Delhi on August 21, 2023. The team comprises of five officers, 17 Permanent Instructors and 26 NCC Cadets (13 Boys & 13 Girls) from various Directorates. The team will attempt to scale Mt Thelu Peak by thrid week of September 2023.

 

This is the 86th NCC Cadets Mountaineering Expedition since 1970. Mount Thelu Peak, with an altitude of 6,002m/19,692 ft, is located in the Gangotri Range of the Garhwal Himalaya in Uttarakhand.

 

Wishing the cadets all success, DG, NCC exhorted them to undertake the challenges with calmness, courage, professionalism and indomitable will. NCC has been at the forefront in development of the youth and providing ample opportunities to the cadets to participate in adventure activities, he said.
