Mr. Sumit Raut, an unemployed youth, was searching for a job for a long time after completing M.Tech in CAD-CAM. While he was looking for a job, he attended a training program conducted on MCED at Udyog Bhawan, Nagpur and came to know about Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Industrialization (MGIRI), Wardha. He immediately reached MGIRI and collected information provided by various departments regarding various trainings/technologies. He decided to take up the training program on aloe vera based products, as he has a few acres of land where he could cultivate aloe vera and start his own processing unit. In May, 2016 he underwent five days training on Aloe Vera based products under the guidance of Dr. Adarsh Kumar Agnihotri in Bio-Processing and Herbal Division.
Soon after completing his training at B&H division, Sumit Raut cultivated aloe vera in his farm and started producing aloe vera based products like handwash, shampoo, moisturizing gel and juice. After getting a good response from the customers, he planned to increase the production of all the products, which required some machines and a bigger setup. He took a loan under the PME GP scheme and started manufacturing of “Mahalakshmi Agro Products” at Ralegaon, District Yavatmal. Established an entity under the name. He has employed 6 people in his unit and his monthly income is now around Rs 1 lakh per month.
