Indian Coast Guard signs agreement with Jindal Steel for marine grade steel


Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) signed an MoU in New Delhi on May 07, 2024 for the supply of indigenous marine graded steel with a view to promote indigenous content in shipbuilding. (MoU) has been signed. Through this partnership, both these institutions are committed to promote indigenization and increase the capabilities of production and use of these goods in the interest of the nation.

The MoU underlines the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing complex security challenges and the need for collaboration between government agencies and the private sector. This MoU envisages several key benefits including quality, grade and dimensions along with designated steel plants to manufacture the product while assuring shipbuilding yards of timely supply of indigenous marine graded steel to the Indian Coast Guard. .
