Mountaineering expedition of NCC boys and girls got green signal


The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Boys and Girls Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Kang Yatse-II was flagged off by Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, Director General, National Cadet Corps from New Delhi on May 28, 2024. The peak is located at an altitude of 6,250 m/20,505 ft in Ladakh region and this is the 87th mountaineering expedition of NCC cadets since the year 1970.

The team consists of five officers from various NCC directorates, 17 permanent instructors and 24 cadets (12 boys and 12 girls). The team will attempt to climb Mount Kang Yatse-II by the end of June 2024.

The Director General of the National Cadet Corps wished the team success and highlighted the important role of the National Cadet Corps in the development of youth and the opportunities provided to the cadets to engage in various adventure activities. He encouraged the cadets to face the challenges faced during this expedition with patience, courage, efficiency and indomitable spirit.
