Indian Navy receives third 25T Bollard Pull (BP) tug, Bajrang

The third 25T Bollard Pull (BP) Tug, Bajrang was handed over to the Indian Navy on 29 June 24 in the presence of Rear Admiral DK Goswami, ASD (MBI). This tug is a proud flag bearer of the “Make in India” initiative of the Government of India.

In line with the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative of the Government of India, a contract was signed with MSME, M/s Shafter Shipyard Private Limited (M/s SSPL), for construction and delivery of three 25T BP Tugs. These tugs are being built as per the classification rules of the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). Availability of tugs will accelerate operational commitments of the Indian Navy by facilitating mooring and berthing of naval ships and submarines and assisting them during departure from harbour, turning and maneuvers in confined waters.
