Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, an Indian Administrative Service officer, took over as Director General, Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Ministry of Labour & Employment at its headquarters in New Delhi today. Shri Ashok Kumar Singh is a 1999 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre. Prior to this he served as Principal Secretary, Water Resources Department, Government of Kerala. He has vast experience in governance and management of district and state level organisations.
At the central level, he has also served as Executive Director in the National Mission for Clean Ganga, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence and Director in the Ministry of Finance. He holds an M.Phil. degree from the National Defence College, New Delhi and is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur.
