India achieved growth in production and storage


Ministry of Coal has achieved growth in overall coal production till 25th August, 2024. Cumulative coal production upto 25.08.24 for FY 2024-25 has increased significantly to 370.67 million tonnes as on 25.08.24 as compared to 346.02 million tonnes produced during the same period in FY 2023-24. Besides, total movement of coal has also witnessed a significant increase, reaching 397.06 million tonnes upto 25th August, 2024 for FY 2024-25, registering a growth rate of 5.48% as compared to last year’s movement of 376.44 million tonnes.

This high coal stock position reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Coal to maintain adequate supply of coal. The steady increase in production, dispatch and stock levels reflects the Ministry's efforts to ensure a reliable energy supply while supporting the country's energy security goals.
