NLC India Limited marks a significant milestone in the Generation of Renewable Energy

NLC India Limited, a premier Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, proudly commemorates its 10th anniversary in renewable energy generation on September 28, 2024. This milestone dates back to the commissioning of its inaugural 10 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Neyveli in 2015. Over the past decade, NLCIL has made remarkable strides, becoming the first Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) in India to achieve 1 GW of renewable energy generation.

Since its entry into the renewable sector, NLCIL has expanded its capacity significantly, now boasting 1,380 MW of solar and 51 MW of wind energy. Through these efforts, the company has successfully generated about 1,234 crore units of green energy, effectively preventing 1 crore tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. This effort not only underscores its commitment to environmental sustainability but also supports India’s clean energy goals.
