Indian scientists adopted a new approach by following the working principle of the human brain

Researchers have developed an innovative road safety sensor prototype that utilizes a novel polymer nanocomposite designed for high-risk turning points where accidents frequently occur. This sensor integrates pressure sensing and energy harvesting properties to enhance road safety effectively.

The prototype can be installed at locations such as movable ramps, ensuring visibility to approaching vehicles—about 100 meters before critical turning points. The system aims to alert drivers of impending dangers through visual signals displayed on a screen.

The innovative polymer nanocomposite sensor is a promising advancement in road safety technologies, designed for critical accident-prone areas. Its ability to harvest energy while simultaneously sensing pressure changes could significantly enhance traffic safety systems.
