DELIVERY OF YARD 3026 (NIRDESHAK)

The delivery of Nirdeshak (Yard 3026) marks a significant milestone in India’s maritime capabilities, particularly in hydrographic surveying. This vessel is the second of four planned Survey Vessels (Large), constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, under the oversight of the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau. The ship was officially delivered on October 8, 2024.

The successful delivery of Nirdeshak is seen as a pivotal step in enhancing the capabilities of the Indian Navy, especially in surveying the expansive maritime boundaries of India. This vessel not only strengthens hydrographic surveying but also contributes towards a more robust maritime strategy in the Indian Ocean Region.
