Skinvest unveils their new range of sunscreens: Introducing Sunny Side Up Cookie and Cream for unrivalled sun protection

Skinvest, a leading innovator in skincare solutions, is proud to announce the launch of its new sun protection products. Designed with advanced formulations researched and developed in collaboration with Stanford’s dermatologists, the Sunny Side Up Cookie and Cream is here to set a new standard for sun protection, empowering the Indian skin.

With the increasing awareness of the harmful effects of sun exposure, Skinvest has dedicated its efforts to develop a sunscreen that not only offers superior protection but also enhances the overall skin care experience and solves problems customized to the variety of different skin tones and skin concerns.

Most “Indian Sunscreens” aren’t truly made for us Indians. The Indian Skin tone is a broad spectrum, and the “One Size Fits All” approach is not for us!

If your skin tone is between 1-4 on the Fitzpatrick scale, you need a Sunscreen that protects you from burning, whereas if you’re on 4 & above, you need to think more about tan!

The brand has made sure that customer awareness is kept in mind and with these new products they aim to educate people. Using cheaper sunscreens does not always mean they are right for the skin and avoiding the usage of sunscreens with harmful ingredients is necessary.

Both the sunscreens are:

             Oxybenzone aka Benzophenone free

             Avobenzone, Octocrylene and Octinoxate free

             Alcohol and artificial color free

             Vegan and Cruelty free

             Paraben and silicone free

             Reef safe and Hypoallergenic

Sunny side up Cookie sunscreen comprising SPF 50 PA ++++ is custom-made to address the specific concerns of darker skin tones on the Fitzpatrick scale. Designed for Indian skin, it tackles issues such as tanning, pigmentation, and dark spots. It is non-comedogenic, leaving no white cast. The sunscreen is sweat and water-resistant, enriched with antioxidants, and suitable for acne-prone skin. It contains clinically proven ingredients like Zinc oxide, Tranexamic acid, Tomato fruit extract, Vitamin C, Centella asiatica, Vitamin E.

It blocks pollution, blue light, WiFi, and UV rays, while hydrating and soothing the skin and preventing/treating sun damage. A reliable companion even during activities like swimming, this sunscreen is fresh, innovative, and sustainable.

Sunny side up Cream variant is specifically designed for Indians with lighter skin tones on the FitzPatrick scale (I, II, III) and their unique concerns with sun damage including sunburn, redness, inflammation, and peeling. Cream contains SPF 40 PA ++++ and is non-comedogenic, suitable for acne prone skin. Sweat and water-resistant, enriched with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, it effectively blocks pollution, blue light, WiFi, and UV rays, while improving the skin barrier. Cream contains clinically proven ingredients like Squalene, Hemp seed oil, Niacinamide, Zinc oxide, Hyaluronic acid, Chamomile extract, Glutathione and Liquorice root extract.

In addition to its powerful sun protection, the both the variants block pollution, blue light, WiFi, and UV rays, while hydrating and soothing the skin and preventing/treating sun damage.

Enriched with a unique blend of antioxidants and moisturising agents, Cookie, and Cream help to maintain the skin’s health, elasticity, and natural radiance. The carefully curated ingredients work synergistically to create a comprehensive skincare solution that goes beyond sun protection alone.

Dr Vijaytha Murali a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow currently working in Stanford Dermatology, says

Indian skin is heterogeneous. It’s important to appreciate the diversity of skin tones Indian subcontinent encompasses ranging from fair skin that has the propensity to burn to dark skin that tans and darkens quickly upon sun exposure. Because of the diversity of Indian skin, skincare advice must be tailored to these differences in skin tones and types to address differing needs, as opposed to adopting a one-size fits all approach. On a cultural level, it is important that we are able to move away from the concept of lighter skin being viewed more favorably, and to truly appreciate the diversity of Indian skin tones, ranges, and tailor care to their specific needs. The accurate description of skin tone remains an area of Dermatology that is evolving. Typically, per current Fitzpatrick classifications, Indian tones tend to range anywhere from types II-VI, where lighter types tend to burn more easily, and the darker skin tones tend to tan.”
