In order to explore academic opportunities and provide a holistic learning experience to students, SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University and the University of Galway, Ireland, recently signed a game-changing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the NMIMS Mumbai campus. Students studying in the NMIMS School of Commerce, School of Economics, School of Branding & Advertising, School of Science and School of Liberal Arts are set to be the beneficiaries of the collaboration between the two marquee institutions.
The MoU aligns with NMIMS’ firm commitment to providing its students with a global perspective and helping them gain cross-cultural experiences in this interconnected world.
The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries from NMIMS and the University of Galway, Dr. Sharad Mhaiskar, Pro Vice Chancellor, NMIMS; Ms. Meena Saxena, Director, International Linkages, NMIMS, Programs and campus Heads, NMIMS; Dr. Murray Scott, Vice Dean, Internationalisation, University of Galway; Ms. Anju Singh, Senior Regional Manager- South Asia, University of Galway; Mr. Adrian Larkin, Marketing Manager, University of Galway; Ms. Sharon Allman, Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer, University of Galway; Ms. Wendy Dsouza, Senior Vice President, India & South Asia, Enterprise, Ireland & Education in Ireland, University of Galway; Mr. Ross Curran, Director, India & South Asia, Enterprise Ireland, Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Regional Manager, Education in Ireland at Enterprise Ireland, were present at the momentous occasion.
The delegates discussed the possibility of Progression and Articulation arrangements between the two prominent universities to provide students with dynamic academic opportunities. Both institutions agreed to jointly participate in research, innovation and knowledge sharing. Furthermore, they agreed to share their rich legacy in teaching and research to develop and provide holistic education opportunities to students.
Founded in 1845, the University of Galway, Ireland, has a rich legacy of 178 years in higher education. Its research-led approach to education has brought international accolades to the institution. The public university is ranked 259th in the acclaimed global QS Rankings and among the top three universities in Ireland.
The MoU between NMIMS University and the University of Galway has opened the gates for both the two prestigious universities to explore the possibility of a long-term partnership to enhance their students' learning and on-campus experiences.
