Government launches new initiative to tackle cyber fraud and misuse of telecom resources


Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav along with Minister of State for Communications Shri Devusinh Chauhan unveiled the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP) of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The objective of the platform is to promote collaboration among stakeholders to reduce misuse of telecom resources for cyber crimes and financial frauds.

He said, “The government is making continuous efforts to prevent cyber fraud under the Safe India Project.” He outlined a three-pronged strategy under the Safe India Project. “Efforts are directed at the national, organizational and individual levels,” he explained. RBI along with SBI took action against these banks, loan of Rs 3 crore… What is the impact on business? He underlined the important role of awareness and education in empowering citizens to effectively use the tools against cyber threats.

He lauded the effectiveness of the 'Sanchar Sathi' portal in dealing with cyber attacks, saying, “It has helped in successfully dealing with such attacks.” Minister Devusingh Chauhan echoed his sentiments while appreciating the efforts of the Department of Telecommunications in dealing with cyber security threats. He reaffirmed the ongoing commitment to develop and implement projects aimed at addressing emerging fraud. He stressed on their role as an integral step in protecting the digital assets of citizens and curbing fraudulent activities.
