Six-lane controlled access road project in Mopa dedicated to the nation


Enhancing modern road connectivity in Goa, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari today dedicated to the nation the 6-lane access-controlled road with elevated viaducts from Manohar International Airport to Dhargal on NH-166S in Goa.

The 7 km long project costing ₹1183 crore will significantly improve connectivity to Manohar International Airport, facilitating faster and hassle-free travel. The development is expected to boost tourism activities and promote multi-modal connectivity, thereby reducing logistics costs.

Additionally, it aims to make traffic more smooth and safer, thereby saving on fuel consumption and travel time. Ultimately, the project is set to stimulate overall socio-economic development in the region, positively impacting the local economy and the quality of life of residents.

He also announced today the construction of a 45 km long bypass from Vadgaon in Goa to Karnataka border at a cost of Rs 3500 crore. He said the project would be 52 km long and would cost Rs 4000 crore.
