88th NCC cadets mountaineering expedition flagged off


Director General, National Cadet Corps flagged off NCC Girls and Boys Mountaineering Expedition to Mount Abi Gamin (Uttarakhand) from New Delhi on August 21, 2024. A team comprising 34 cadets, six officers and 20 permanent instructor staff from various NCC Directorates across the country will participate in this challenging expedition. This is the 88th mountaineering expedition of NCC cadets since 1970.

Mount Abi Gamin peak, situated at an altitude of 7,355 m in the Garhwal Himalaya, serves as an important preparatory phase for NCC's upcoming mission of conquering Mount Everest in 2025. DG NCC while highlighting the importance of this expedition said that Mount Abi Gamin expedition is not just another adventure activity, it is a stepping stone for the cadets who aspire to climb Mount Everest. He also motivated the team to face the challenges with composure, courage, efficiency and indomitable will.
