Nainital, Uttarakhand | August 2026 – The Hazelnut Factory (THF), North India’s leading specialty coffee, artisanal mithai, and café brand opened THF Lakehouse, its newest destination on the iconic Mall Road, marking THF’s entry into Uttarakhand and its 23rd edition. Inaugurated on 10th August 2026, the new space brings together THF’s signature artisanal mithai, handcrafted desserts, specialty coffee, fresh bakery and all-day dining against the timeless beauty of Nainital Lake.
Designed to complement the character of its surroundings, THF Lakehouse is warm, intimate and inviting. With its beautiful lake views and contemporary interpretation of Nainital’s old-world charm, the space is envisioned as a place where travellers can pause, families can gather, and locals can create new memories.
The launch was celebrated in the presence of Smt. Sarita Arya, MLA of the Nainital Assembly Constituency.
For Ankit Sahni, Founder & CEO of The Hazelnut Factory, the launch is particularly meaningful, having spent his school years in Nainital, the city represents an important chapter of his own journey.
“Nainital has always held a very special place in my heart. I spent my school years here, and to return to the city with something we have built from the ground up is an incredibly meaningful feeling. With THF Lakehouse, we wanted to create a space that feels connected to Nainital – warm, welcoming and rooted in its character, while bringing the quality, craftsmanship and hospitality that define The Hazelnut Factory. It is wonderful to see locals and travellers come together over good food, coffee and the simple joy of being in a beautiful place.”
The opening of THF Lakehouse represents more than geographical expansion for the brand. From its beginnings in Lucknow, THF has steadily evolved into one of North India’s fastest-growing premium food and beverage brands, bringing together the worlds of artisanal mithai, specialty coffee, bakery, patisserie and contemporary hospitality.
With its arrival in Nainital, THF continues its philosophy of taking familiar Indian flavours and presenting them through a contemporary lens, while creating destinations that feel distinctly connected to the places they inhabit.
And in Nainital, that connection is particularly special, a place where mountains, memories, coffee and conversations come together over a view that needs no introduction.
