The course aims to engage young talented students & train them with the necessary KSAs to deploy them in the industry.

Ramping up its Skill Development initiatives and contribution towards the Skill India vision, Daikin Japanese Institute of Manufacturing Excellence (DJIME), a not-for-profit educational institute set up by Daikin Air-conditioning India Pvt Ltd. has initiated a Frontline Engineers Course (FEC). The course is METI (Ministry of Economic, Trade & Industry), Japan accredited, which follows the Learning by Doing Principle, and students will get an opportunity to be placed with the larger HVAC industry in addition to Daikin’s dealers and associates & other industries of choice.

The course curriculum contains four trimesters with on-the-job training in production, sales, and services in the last trimester. The first and second trimesters focuses mainly on soft skills, general aptitude, and language, amongst other subjects. The third trimester offers students specializations in manufacturing, sales, services, and projects. Upon successfully completing the course, the students will be interviewed and selected by Daikin’s channel partners and nearby industries.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr K J Jawa, Chairman & MD, Daikin India, said, “With advancements in technology in the HVAC industry and its unprecedented growth, we need to ensure that our consumers receive the best-in-class services. To align with this, the industry requires highly skilled technicians, thus making it imperative that students have access to advanced technologies and gain hands-on training experience. With the DJIME Frontline Engineers Course, we share with the students the best practices along with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience that will benefit not only the students but the entire industry, thereby contributing towards the Skill India Mission.”

The first batch for FEC is currently ongoing. The eligibility criteria to be admitted to this course is a diploma certification, and the admission process involves a written test and, subsequently, an interview.
