Center for empowerment of disabled people opened in Samba-Jammu


In an important event demonstrating a significant progress towards inclusivity and empowerment, Shri Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with the launch of the Comprehensive Regional Center (CRC) for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. (CRC) Samba-Jammu Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay officially inaugurated CRC Jammu by unveiling the commemorative plaque at the National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities (PDUNIPPD).

CRC Samba – Jammu, an initiative of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, is set to become a symbol of hope and progress for Persons with Disabilities in the region.

 

The Center aims to provide comprehensive support, skill development and rehabilitation services to empower persons with disabilities and facilitate their integration into mainstream society. Shri Rajiv Sharma, Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting an inclusive society.

 

“The holistic regional center is a testament to our commitment to creating an environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive,” he said. This center will not only provide essential services but will also serve as a hub to promote skill development, self-reliance and empowerment.
