25T Bollard Pull Tug, Baljeet (Yard 306) capsized at Bharuch, Gujarat


The 25 t Bollard Pull (BP) tug, Baljeet, was launched on 10 Mar 24 by Commodore Rajat Nagar, WPS (MBI) at M/s Shaft Shipyard Pvt Ltd, Bharuch, Gujarat. This tug is a proud pioneer of the “Make in India” initiative of the Government of India.

In line with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative of the Government of India, the contract was completed with MSME M/s Shaft Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. (M/S SSPL) for the construction and delivery of three 25 T BP Tugs. These tugs are being constructed under the classification rules of the Indian Shipping Register (IRS). The availability of tugs will accelerate the operational commitments of the Indian Navy by providing assistance to naval ships and submarines during berthing and un-berthing, turning and maneuvers in confined waters. These tugs will also provide firefighting support to ships at anchor and will have the capability to conduct limited search and rescue operations.
